Note: I have a Samuel Corn, b. April 10, 1792, in Patrick Co., VA. On March 25,
1854 he died. Samuel was married twice. His first wife was Permelia
Burnett, and the second wife's name was Susannah Slaughter.
I have 9 children total from both wives.

You have your Samuel's confused. Samuel b 1792 m Permelia Burnett okay
then m Polly Carter. He was so of Jesse And E Hancock
The Samuel who married Mary Slaughter was the son of Samuel. He went to
Missouri. He also M. Susan Slaughter. He was born in 1790.

Gary, thought we'd cleared this Samuel Corn "corn-fusion"up!! Samuel
Corn, Jr. who married Mary Slaughter and went to MO did not marry any one
else. Mary was his wife when he sold his land in Patrick Co to Jeremiah
Hylton in 1833 to move to MO, she was his wife in 1850 Jackson Co., MO
census, she was his widow when he died in Jackson Co., MO 25 Mar 1854. We
still are clueless as to the mysterious Samuel Corn who married Mary's
sister, Susannah Slaughter. It wasn't Samuel Corn, Jr. (son of Samuel Sr
and Elizabeth) who went to MO. He wasn't Jesse's son Samuel, who married
Permelia Burnett and went to Franklin Co, TN. He wasn't your John Peter's
Samuel. Was he Son of George?? Several of us wish we could clear that one
up. If Permelia Burnett Corn died in Franklin Co in 1850 of imflammation
of the bowel, (1850 mortality schedule) then did he remarry before dying
in 1852?
Mary
Note: Register of the Kentucky State Historical Society
Solomon Corn this day claimed a preemp't of 1,00 acres of land in the
district of Kentucky on acc't of marking and improving in the year 1775
lying on the North side of the North fork of Elkhorn and on the waters of
Lecomps run adjoining the lands where john Deal has an Improvement and
likewise the lands of John Williams Jr. Satisfactory proof being made to
the court. They are of opinion that the said Corn has right to preempt'n
of 1,000 acres of land to include his improvement and that a certificate
issued accordingly.
Old records of mercer County Ky, mention Solomon Corn as another son of
Geroge Corn Sr. His name appears in the Gwathney's list of Virginians in
the Revolution, and also in Eckinrode's List
