his home in Maysville.

Note: Confederate Army and served through the remainder of the war. He was
wounded three times and these wounds resulted in much suffering in later
life. Seven daughters were born to this union

Note: William A. Corn 83, died at the home of a daughter Mrs. Tom bowman at
Rudby this morning at 4:35 o'clock after an illness of some time. Funeral
services will be held on Saturday afternoon from the Tom Shepherd Funeral
Home at 2 o'clock and burial will follow at Rugby. Pall bearers will be
selected from neighbors and friends. Mr. Corn was a native of Henderson
Co. and had farmed most of his life. He is survived by eight children:
Mrs. bowman of Rugby, Mrs. W.S. Rolph of Greensboro, Mrs Inez Guice of
Asheville, D.A., M>C>, W.M. all of Hendersonville and Grover Cleveland of
Greenville, (SC) and W.F. of Brevard. He is also survived by one brother
Frank Corn of Hendersonville and three sisters- Mrs. Drury Clark, Mrs.
Sally McHam of Hendersonville and Mrs. John Hawkins of Greer, S.C.

"G.C. Corn(Grover Cleveland) son of W. A. Corn of this County, who is
connected with the Greenville Fire Dept. has sent his father an account
of some of the quick work of this area."

The funeral service for Frank M. Corn, 86, who died Saturday at his home
on RFD 5, will be conducted Tuesday at 4 PM at Balfour Baptist Church. He
had been in bad health for sometime.
The Rev.Carl Blythe, Otto Parham and WC Huntley will officate at the
service and burial will be in Mill Pond Cemetery with Furman McCarson,
Ben Raines, Cletus Pressley, Dan Lyda, Edgar Justus and Clyde Fetner as
pall bearers. Surviving are his wife, four daughters: Mrs. Mamie Odum of
Balfour, Mrs. Della Huggins of Flat Rock, Mrs. Louise Whitaker of RFD 5
and Mrs. Mae Summey of Biltmore. Three sons- Fred of Hendersonville, Paul
of Akron, Ohio and guy of Balfour. Two sisters, Mrs. Teenie Hawkins of
Landrum, SC and Mrs. Sallie McHam of Hooper's Creek; 15 grandchildren and
8 great grandchildren.
